Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Skyline Heights Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable. We want to be a blessing to your entire family through Bible preaching and teaching, encouraging music, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! Here are a few answers to common questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

What To Expect?

Where Do I Go?

When you arrive at the church there will be someone to greet you at the main entrance of the church building to assist you with any directions you may need.  Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. and we have classes grouped by age for children preschool through the 12th grade. We have many adult Sunday School classes that you may choose to attend.

The morning worship service begins at 10:45am in the main sanctuary. You may choose to have your children remain with you for the entire worship service or at the announced time they are invited to depart the auditorium to attend a service designed especially for children ages 4 to 11. We also have a nursery available for infants through 3 years of age.

What Should I Wear?

There is not a dress code at Skyline Heights Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Skyline Heights.

What Can I Expect During Worship Service?

Singing

Every service gives you an opportunity to join us in singing hymns and spiritual songs as a congregation.

Prayer

We are a church that believes in prayer. Throughout the service, prayers are led by different members of the church. Some of these prayers deal with the needs and requests of our church family and friends, while others simply praise and thank God for His goodness and faithfulness.

Special Music

At every public worship service you will be blessed to hear beautiful music presented by our choir, various singing groups and soloists.

Preaching

We consider the preaching and teaching of the Word of God to be the most important time of the service. We believe that the best help you can get comes from the instruction you receive from the Word of God.

Invitation

At the end of the preaching, our Pastor will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation. This is a time for many to respond and make a life-changing decision to trust Jesus Christ as personal Saviour or to recommit themselves to Christ. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you to come forward with others that will make decisions.

If you would like someone to pray for you or would like to make your decision public, any of our members are more than willing to help and guide you in your decisions.

Offering

We don’t invite you to Skyline Heights Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. As our guest, please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering.
